Clive’s Wines

The company is based in Burntwood, Staffordshire near to the beautiful cathedral city of Lichfield. It all started in 2010 with some old demi-johns given to me by my mother in law. After trying some kit wines, I ventured into trying real fruit. My first flavour was Elderberry and was enjoyed by family and friends. I then decided that I wanted to try and make other fruit wines, using my own recipes.

I took them to parties, BBQ’s and gave them away as presents. The more I gave away, the more I was asked for. My next step was to apply for my license and produce fruit wines in larger batches. I gained my license in 2012 and began to produce a range of different fruit wines, selling to local farm shops. The business stayed part time and was run from home whilst still working full time.

By September 2015, I was running out of room to produce more wine and needed to look at moving the business to premises. I managed to acquire a unit and with a lot of hard work, got the unit to a standard to produce wine. This enabled me to produce more, as by now I was supplying wine to 20 different farm shops. This was still all part time!

In April 2016 I took the biggest step yet and gave up my full-time job, company car and income to produce wine full time and bought a van.
